Engineers have changed the face of the Earth with their creations and most of these creations are come from very simple, unassuming engineers who have a love and dedication for their subject. Hats off to these engineers who have changed the world with their simple, yet innovative creations. Here is a list of the major engineers and their inventions.
Nikola Tesla: AC generation current system
I’m sure that this great man’s surname does ring a bell for many. If not for him, we would not have had the AC generation system and as a result both the motor and the transformer would not have been a reality. This is not all, as the man made many other interesting inventions such as the induction motor, Tesla coil and the fluorescent lighting.
Nicolas Otto
Here is another engineer who changed people’s perspective of life with his invention. He invented the 4 stroke gasoline engine which gave automobiles a whole new meaning. Though this 4 stroke concept was present in theory at that time, it was Nicholas Otto who actually made it a reality.
James Watt
Here is another surname that I’m sure that you are familiar with as you will come across it as a unit of measurement in Physics. Well, James Watt is the man who made many remarkable inventions and the most praise-worthy among them was the enhancement of the already existing steam engine that triggered the industrial revolution. It was because of him than man was replaced by machines and he also calculated the accurate value of 1 horsepower.

Not many have heard of his name as he is relatively younger than the other engineers whom I’ve mentioned in this list. But then, he does deserve to be in this list as he made a very interesting set of inventions such as the SpaceShipOne & White Knight, Helios, Global Flyer etc. His inventions have made him a strong figure for aeronautical engineers.
Sergei Korolev
This Russian engineer made path breaking inventions with respect to rocket science. If not for him, we would not have known many of the principles that are imperative for the functioning of a rocket and apart from that he also designed the R-7 rocket that is the launcher for Sputnik.
